The Sloths
When Penanglicious first approached us for a design project, they brought along a sketch of their ideal sloth character and shared their vision of an animal roaming through Penang’s food scene. It began with a simple concept a sloth holding a cup of coffee, leisurely wandering through local cafés. Over time, this sloth evolved into a tennis player through a collaboration with Tennislicious, joining forces with various F&B brands to host tennis themed events.
This idea eventually gave rise to a collection of 10 unique sloth characters, each representing a different event. Every sloth has its own identity, acting as the mascot and spirit of the occasion.
The Ultimate Cafe Hopper 2.0 n 3.0
We were also honored to become the main design team for The Ultimate Café Hopper 2.0. The overall concept was to accompany the sloth as it visited cafés and restaurants across the map. Participants who completed the challenge would receive an exclusive, limited-edition pin badge.
As part of the event, we created custom illustrations for each participating F&B brand, including their signature cups, dishes, and storefronts. The entire campaign was built around the idea of the sloth goes through the streets of Penang, checking in at each spot along the way.
The Ultimate Cafe Hopper 3.0
Ngakulicious – Hea-ppy CNY
Ngakulicious and Heappy CNY was a project where we were responsible for designing the packaging stickers and greeting cards. The overall concept aligned with Penanglicious’s branding and their vision for a special pop-up event. Instead of following the traditional bright red Chinese New Year aesthetic, the design took on a more youthful and modern approach reflecting the idea that today’s generation is increasingly open to celebrating the New Year beyond the usual bold red and gold palette.
Cafe Hopping Totebag ｜ Sorry, I’m LATTE
The character design for the tote bag was entirely inspired by the founder of Penanglicious. With a bright and cheerful personality, it feels as if he’s always energetically floating above the clouds, so we included a little cloud in the design to reflect that. Holding a cup of coffee was also a must, as it’s an essential part of his daily routine.
